Cable Technician

New full time opportunity with our client, a full-service technology infrastructure company focusing in structured cabling, utility construction, and special systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and networking, with hands-on experience in cabling and network installation.

This role involves working in hospitals, any experience installing nurse calling equipment will be preferred.

This role will require being onsite Monday to Friday from 6am - 2pm. Potential options for OT and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair cabling systems for data and telecommunications networks.
• Conduct field service operations, including troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
• Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to test electrical connections and ensure proper functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to complete network installations efficiently and effectively.
• Configure and install networking equipment, including Cisco routers, to meet client specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices during all installations.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cable installation, network setup, or related field service roles.
• Prior experience installing nurse call systems
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet standards and low voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts and protocols.
• Proficient in using tools such as an ohmmeter for testing electrical connections.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Certification or training in telecommunications or related fields is a plus.
