Civil Construction Coordinator

Must Haves:

• 5-10 years of experience in the field
• 2 years in construction management.
• Experience with grading & waterflow, foundations, grading, and leveling
• Experience working within the industrial or manufacturing industry
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar software

Pluses:

• Automotive experience
• Greenfield experience
• Civil Engineering degree or Professional Engineering License
• Ability to create drawings through CAD or similar software

Job Description:

A top automotive client in the area is looking for a Site Project Engineer to join the plant operations team providing technical expertise for their new site in Greensboro, NC. The primary responsibility of this resource is to prepare the site before the building is constructed including the foundation, water treatment, and underground piping & leveling. Other responsibilities will also include the following:

1. Facilitate civil and structural installations & commissioning activities.
2. Provide subject matter expert assistance in review of site utilities, roadways, underground piping, specifications, & contractor generated RFIs.
3. Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for civil and structural installations including but not limited to Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, & arc flash safety.
4. Possess extensive knowledge of prevailing site codes and requirements
5. Work with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate piping, wastewater treatment installations, and transportation logistics.
6. Coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, & manufacturing shops.
7. Conduct work progress inspections on a continual basis.
8. Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.
9. Conduct inspections and observations of civil and structural building systems for compliance with project specifications quality standards, & applicable codes.
10. Oversee work of civil and structural contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, & coordination with other groups.
11. Prepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers.
12. Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards
