Job Description
A client that is a large player in the design and engineering consulting industry is looking for a Civil Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll contribute to a variety of impactful projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, aquatic habitat restoration, hydraulic structure analysis and design, sediment transport studies, and dam and reservoir operations modeling.
As a Civil Design Engineer, your primary focus will be:
• Lead or support the design and construction administration of civil works projects, including dams, levees, and floodwalls.
• Develop and review plans and specifications to ensure high quality, constructible designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create 3D surfaces and design models.
• Manage design and permitting tasks across multiple projects, balancing deadlines and technical requirements.
• Oversee construction administration, including bid support, onsite activity coordination, compliance checks, change order management, and shop drawing reviews.
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team that includes environmental, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Active Engineering Intern (EI) certification as a minimum, Professional Engineer (PE) license a strong plus.
• 5-15 years of professional engineering experience, particularly in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• A proven ability to develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
• Excellent technical writing skills to produce clear, concise reports that communicate procedures and results effectively.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, as well as a willingness to travel for project needs. Field experience and boat operation skills are a bonus.
