What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at Insight Global?
Insight Global is currently seeking a Sr. Engineer for a permanent full-time opportunity in the Lexington, KY area. This individual will be a licensed engineer (with an active PE) and will be responsible for developing structures and equipment bidding documents for distribution and transmission substations. Other responsibilities will include reviewing designs, developing construction specifications and contracts, design grounding layout and detail, and maintain awareness of all relevant procedures, specifications, NEMA, NEC, NESC, ANSI, IEEE, etc., and applicable standards. Additional responsibilities include developing solutions to problem statements, create presentations for solutions and perform project management duties for smaller projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in substation construction inspection, technical specifications, and contract development / administration.

Professional working experience with substations
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program required
- Registered PE license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky preferred
- 7 years of progressively responsible engineering work experience
Professional working experience with CAD applications
