We are looking for a Civil Project Engineer/Manager with a strong desire for professional growth. You will be responsible for preparing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications, and will serve as the Engineer of Record on projects for both public and private clients, primarily in the South Florida market.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Design: Focus on solid waste management, including landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other related projects.
- Client Communications: Maintain effective communication with clients.
- Staff Coordination and Development: Oversee and develop project staff.
- Project Management: Handle design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.
Responsibilities
- Apply extensive knowledge of engineering and scientific principles in solid waste and related fields.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Work independently on engineering or scientific problems, plan and coordinate work, and represent SCS at meetings and conferences.
- Perform fieldwork in varied terrain and weather, including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections.
- Conduct office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and preparing permit applications.
- Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry-related conferences and trade shows.
- Receive technical guidance on complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Qualifications
- Florida P.E. (preferably civil) registration required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including consulting experience in the solid waste industry, landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other software commonly used in environmental consulting. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
Salary : $75,000 - $110,000
