Position: Cloud Staff Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85054 - HYBRID
Duration: 9 month contract to HIRE
Must Haves:
- 5 years of experience as a Cloud Staff Engineer
- 3 years of experience with Terraform (ex: define infrastructure as code, provision resources, manage state, implement modules, etc.)
- 3 years of experience working with Golang (preferred) or Java to write custom scripts and tools for managing infrastructure
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes to orchestrate and manage containerized applications
- Experience with AWS, specifically designing, deploying, and managing cloud solutions using AWS services to ensure a scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure
- Understanding of CI/CD to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery
- Proficiency in implementing automated tests, including unit, integration, and performance testing, to ensure the quality and reliability of cloud infrastructure and applications
- Ability to tie together networking permissions, security measures, load balancing configurations, and Kubernetes-managed applications into a cohesive, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure
- Expertise in implementing and managing IAM policies, enforcing policy governance, and ensuring robust network security to provide secure and controlled access to cloud resources

A client in Phoenix, AZ is looking for a Cloud Staff Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be enhancing user experience for AWS, particularly around deployment and SDLC. The project aims to speed up infrastructure and security processes through automation and policy improvements, making a significant impact on efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities of this individual are shown below:
- Implement infrastructure changes using Terraform.
- Mature Go modules and Terraform configurations.
- Automate infrastructure setup and security policies.
- Develop scripts to speed up deployment processes.
- Write and review code in Golang.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure smooth integration and deployment of new features.
- Manage network permissions, security settings, and load balancing.
- Optimize Kubernetes clusters for better performance.
- Focus on Kubernetes-native cloud solutions and pod management.
