CNC Machinist

Must Haves:

Education: 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1:Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools in order to perform precision machining

operations while holding close tolerance dimensions with occasional assistance.

2:Read & interpret blueprints – both imperial and metric standards.

3:Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry,

trigonometry) and part drawings / standards.

4:Use measuring gauges including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, depth gauge,

bore gauges, Mahr gages, etc. to inspect manufactured parts, in order to ensure

adherence to drawing tolerances.

2:Provide feedback on equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and work holding solutions

to reduce setup times and eliminate rework.

3:Test cut / dry run CNC programs prior to production runs. Machine parts correctly

with only set up documentation and part drawing documentation.

4:Ensure adherence to routed hours for production or better.

5:Expertise & experience in using common measuring instruments (micrometers,

calipers, height/depth/bore gauges,).

6:Experience in accurately diagnosing tool wear by visual inspection or by

listening to the process, and in making necessary adjustments to control the process

Day-to-day:

General Scope: Ability to operate and setup all types of CNC, NC, and conventional machines.(NIGHT SHIFT) Position Summary:

• Load tools in machine that have been pre-set in tool room.

• Load program in machine control. • Take test cut and measure before finish machining.

• Adjust machine settings, according to blueprints, if necessary.

• Check and change tooling. • Adjust speeds and feeds as needed.

• Must be able to run conventional machines as well with proficiency.

• Must have the ability to make and edit programs without programmer assistance.

• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil, filter and coolant levels, removal of chips from machine.

Compensation:

$26-32/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
