Commissioning Authority/Engineer-HVAC and Plumbing
Salary: 120k-140k
9am-4pm EST
Hybrid but must be available to visit sites all working days
Monday-Wednesday in office-Thursday and Friday can be remote (Jacksonville, FL)
This position will lead the companies mechanical and plumbing engineering design development practices in all regions of work performed by the team in adherence to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army surveying, planning and RFP design standards. These individuals will be working on new building construction, updates and renovations. Not maintenance, just design. Most work will be done on offices, housing and training areas.
Requirements
- Bachelors mechanical engineering degree
- Focus on HVAC and Plumbing Engineering, ideally HVAC
- PE license
- 6 yrs of experience in addition to education with a focus in HVAC or plumbing n one or more of the following-design, construction, installation, operations, maintenance, testing and balancing building automation temperature control systems, inspections, and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Knowledge with AHREA 90.1, 62.1 and 55 (code book design-this is not a certification, just knowledge)
- Experience with Revit/ Autocad
- Working knowledge of the commissioning process of MEP systems (in other words CX process)
Day to day
- Doing testing's for projects -making sure everything meets standards
- Go on the field and look at how things are being installed, check controls, and identify issues/challenges
- Commissioning of MEP systems -testing and verifying that all systems and components within a building are installed correctly, functioning as designed, and meet the owners requirements
- Read and understand design information and ideas
- Reviewing, adjusting, and applying UFGS , UFC, IMC, International plumbing code, ASHRE 90.1, and LEED standards for application in Mechanical HVAC and plumbing engineering designs
- Reading construction drawings and specifications within MEP systems
- Identify and document design/construction conflicts
- Analyzing and understanding government RFP's with the goals of creating design solutions
