Title: Controls Engineer
Duration: 6 month contract with extensions and potential conversion
Location: Berkeley, CA
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support for filling and packaging systems.
- Work in a TSO capacity – high autonomy, system ownership, and on-the-fly decision-making.
Required Experience:
- DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Pharma manufacturing environment (preferred systems: DeltaV, ABB—though ABB is rare in pharma, so not required).
- Strong background in automation and controls, ideally with BPS (Batch Processing Systems).
- Ability to quickly come up to speed in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, standard business hours (8–5 or 9–6).
- Some flexibility is allowed, but these are 100% on-site roles.
On-Call Rotation:
- This role participates in an on-call rotation every 2.5–3 months.
- During on-call week: expected to be available 24/7.
- Compensation: engineer works half-days (4 hrs/day) but is compensated for a full day of work and receives 1 day of vacation or time-in-lieu.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
