About the Role
At Insight Global, we are seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Technician to join our team in Boydton, Virginia. As a Datacenter Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware components according to specific instructions provided via checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption.
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
- Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management.
- Participate in daily safety briefings, complete required safety training, comply with safety procedures, and contribute to a positive and effective team environment.
Requirements:
- Exceptional server hardware knowledge with a deep understanding of all component & system type failures.
- Able to assist in conducting failure analysis on field issues.
- Solid experience with IPMI utilization in diagnostics.
- Administer software tools (e.g.: diagnostics, tests, FW updates).
- A growth mindset and commitment to continued process improvement.
- 3 years of experience as a data center technician.
- CompTIA A or equivalent experience.
