Must Haves:
3-5 yrs of professional experience in the following
- Experience monitoring servers, self-motivated, eager to help the team, proactive attitude & not waiting around for orders
- SQL server experience & upgrade experience
- MongoDB Experience OR another non-relational databases
- SSRS, SSIS, Maintenance
- Bachelor's Degree
- Coming from a large enterprise environment
Plusses:
- MongoDB Experience
Day to Day:
- Currently have a senior DBA working with them, he is the only DBA, they are a little strapped with resources and need some people, he will be training the people
- DBA does a lot of reporting, SSRS, SSIS, ETL, and helps the team with query optimization & takes care of the servers
- Database server management, helps the team optimize the queries
- Current databases – has a lot, trying to upgrade SQL server to 2022 from 2019
- Manage and maintain SQL Server and MongoDB database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security in a clustered database environment.
- Deploy, configure, and manage SQL Server and MongoDB databases in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Monitor database performance and proactively tune and optimize SQL queries, MongoDB operations, and cloud database instances.
- Implement and maintain database backup and disaster recovery solutions in the cloud.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to gather and review requirements and create functional specifications.
- Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Create and maintain database documentation, including data models, schema designs, and system configurations.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
- Self-motivated, independent, detailed oriented team player.
- Performs on-call duties and system implementations and upgrades that may occur after normal business hours and weekends as required to minimize business impact.
- Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Compensation:
$80,000 to $100,000 per year annual salary.
