Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of practice experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
- Experience with conventional environmental services as well as executing and managing projects and proposals.
- Proven client/business development experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Pluses:
- Experience in Illinois and Iowa is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed.

Our client is seeking an Environmental Group/Department Manager to join our Bettendorf, Iowa (Quad Cities) office. This is a unique opportunity to lead diverse environmental projects, including site assessments (Phase I/II ESAs), remediation, regulatory compliance, and industrial hygiene, across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and transportation.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Provide leadership and management of Environmental staff with a goal of growing the business and department.
- Assume senior project/client management and oversight duties for portfolio of existing workload.
- Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage APRs on projects at their onset.
- Responsible for the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for a variety of projects.
- With support from the local office leadership team as well as the Regional Environmental Service Manager and other Environmental Group Managers, perform business and client development activities.
- With support from the Regional Environmental Service Manager, develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
- With support from the Regional Environmental Service Manager prepare and execute annual business plan for the department.
- Mentor and lead a team of environmental consultants to project success
- Foster long-term client relationships and expand our market presence
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
