Director of Software Engineering

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Full-Stack Developer with a strong background in startups and leadership experience. The ideal candidate is a senior full-stack developer ready to transition into a leadership role or someone with existing leadership experience. This role involves a mix of hands-on coding and executive-level responsibilities, with a focus on problem-solving and innovation. The ideal candidate is a passionate and driven individual with a startup mindset and a desire to lead and innovate in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities: (These responsibilities may change with the development of the company and team sizes)

• Lead and oversee the technology strategy and execution for the company.
• Manage and mentor a small team of 2 developers, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Engage in hands-on coding and development from Day 1, dedicating approximately 80% of your time to technical work.
• Allocate around 20% of your time to management and leadership tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Drive innovation and ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our technology solutions.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges independently, demonstrating a scrappy and resourceful approach.

Must Haves:

• 10-15 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in full-stack development.
• Expert knowledge of Ruby on Rails and React (JavaScript)
• Experience working within an Agile environment.
• Proven experience in a startup environment, with a track record of successfully navigating the unique challenges of early-stage companies.
• Leadership experience or a strong desire to transition into a leadership role.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pluss:

• Experience within AWS, GitHub, and GraphQL
• Knowledge of performance optimization for large-scale applications.
• Familiarity with product design and UI/UX principles.
