Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering & Completion of FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering
- Successfully complete the Fundamentals of Engineering as part of the Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 5-10 years of site infrastructure and project engineering experience in a cleanroom or wet lab environment at a Semiconductor, Pharmaceuticals, or Biotechnology company
- Knowledge of project processes, working in conjunction with project managers, construction managers, system engineers, and designers
- Understanding of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control panel system design
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience, including software development of HMIs
- Understanding of discrete and analog control signals; ability to read and interpret proportional, integral derivative (PID) controller
- Ability to implement field verification, create field notes, read and interpret drawing and wiring, schematics, and update schematic drawings
- Understanding of electrical code requirements
- Understanding of 3 phase power generations, distribution, and metering
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently: with demonstrated organization, problem-solving, and time management skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Prefer Emerson RX3i platform experience
- Prefer GE Cimplicity platform experience
- Square D, GE, or Allen Bradley product familiarity
- Breaker Coordination, Fault Studies, Arc Flash Calculations
- Using electrical design tools and software packages (i.e., PTW, EZPOWER, Power World Simulator, Power Metering demand Software, etc.)
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Electrical I&C Project Engineer with extensive experience in complex facilities to support our technology customer in Corvallis, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) scopes of work for infrastructure projects, which may include modifications to existing systems or the addition of new systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include consulting on high-priority projects, scoping and reviewing these scopes with system engineers from relevant disciplines. You will perform field verification of Electrical and I&C system drawings and conduct field investigations to develop accurate scope of work requirements. Additionally, you will participate in project reviews to ensure designs meet the scope of work requirements and provide final drawing and document reviews, including construction redlines, to confirm system sustaining drawings and documents are updated with project revisions. You will provide oversight on infrastructure projects, addressing problem resolution for roadblocks, and meeting ongoing milestones for projects and customer requests. Supporting the startup of installed equipment and collaborating closely with Program Managers, Vendors, and other third parties will also be part of your responsibilities. This position typically operates in a standard office environment with occasional work in manufacturing and construction setting.
