Job Title: Grants Writer
Location: NYC (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $90K-$110K
Must Haves:
• Master’s degree in biomedical sciences or a related field
• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in scientific or medical writing or as a journal editor with advanced data visualization skills
• Proficiency in bibliographic/reference management software (i.e. EndNote), Office 365, and teleconferencing systems
• Knowledge of PowerPoint, Acrobat Writer, BioRender, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Experience with funding mechanisms and agencies listed here: NIH/NCI, DOD, foundations, .
Day to Day:
• Understands the scientific content relevant to departmental goals
• Provides detailed writing and editing of grant documents, manuscripts, and other research-related documents as needed
• Assists with grant proposal development, from conception to refinement
• Advise investigators on best strategies to convey the significance, impact, and innovation of their research
• Collaborate with department faculty and key investigators to generate visually appealing graphics/illustrations, figures, and tables, from experimental data as needed for grants, manuscripts, and other research-related needs
• Ensure familiarity with funding opportunities and align proposal requirements with program goals/objectives
• Consult with investigators when responding to reviewer critiques for grant resubmissions
• Ability to conduct high-level literature reviews, draft, revise, and edit scientific manuscripts to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to journal guidelines for submission
• Collaborate with researchers and authors to refine manuscripts, addressing reviewer comments and making necessary revisions to improve the quality and impact of the publication
• Collaborates with finance to develop a budget for the grant
• Ensure the information that is collected is accurate, reflects the requested information, and is provided in accordance with specific guidelines
• Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization
