Jr. Engineering Technician

A client of Insight Global' s is seeking a Jr. Engineering Technician to join their growing team in the Henrico, VA area. This individual will be responsible for preparing detailed design plans, engineering specifications, and conducting site inspections when needed. Other responsibilities include:

• Coordinates the receipt of building, electrical, mechanical/plumbing and other permits and their fees for the Community Development service center
• Review permit applications before they are sent for processing at the relevant departmental level, and also the issuance of building permits;
• Maintains the effective and efficient functioning of all related application/issuance/record-keeping automated systems and technology;
• Provides information to the public concerning County procedures and ordinances
• Ensures the proper supply of permits and all related handouts for provision to the public and building community;
• Coordinates timely filing and the updating of existing records/plats to ensure the most current information is available to the development community and to the public;
• Makes reports and maintains records

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in an Engineering related field
• Prior engineering related work experience
• Knowledge of CAD or a related software

Pay: $20.00-$22.00/hr (flexible based on experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Hiring Method: 6 month contract with a high likelihood of extension and/or permanent hire

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
