Job Description :
The Lead Mammographer is responsible for managing mammography services within a healthcare setting, ensuring top-notch imaging quality, patient care, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. This role involves conducting mammography screenings, supporting the accreditation processes for the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), and spearheading quality assurance efforts to maintain superior breast imaging services.
Day to Day :
- Perform mammography screenings, positioning patients and operating mammography equipment to produce optimal images. Adjust settings (e.g., kilovolts, milliamperes, exposure time) as needed.
- Consistently produce high-quality mammography images, ensuring compliance with ACR and MQSA standards. Evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic accuracy.
- Assist in achieving and maintaining ACR accreditation by preparing documentation, conducting audits, and ensuring all guidelines are met.
- Oversee compliance with MQSA requirements, including quality assurance testing, documentation, and adherence to follow-up protocols.
- Conduct and monitor routine quality control tests on mammography equipment and collaborate with service providers for maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Educate patients on procedures, provide emotional support, and create a positive experience throughout their visit.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and accreditation-related documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and patient care standards.
Compensation :
45.00-65.00 per hour pay range.
