Position: Mid-Level Full stack Developer
Location: Onsite 3 days a week in Midtown
Duration: 1 year contract
Compensation: $50-60hr W2
MUST HAVES:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field experience
- 3-5 years of experience in software design and development including back-end systems, APIs and/or user interfaces
- Demonstrated skill in writing software using TypeScript, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js
- years of experience creating applications in cloud-based environments
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and/or Asynchronous APIs
- Familiarity with container-based deployment practices using tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong development, debugging and troubleshooting skills
Plusses:
- Experience writing applications with Go (GoLang)
- Working knowledge of C# / C
- Facility with scripting languages like Perl or Bash
- Previous work with point-of-sale (POS) or other retail systems
- Familiarity with PCI protocols for credit card payments
- Experience working with Redis, MongoDB and/or MQTT (message queuing telemetry transport)
- Familiarity with CICD and Dev Ops tools like: Jenkins, Harness, Helm, Test Automation tools
- Experience developing multi-threaded backend environments
Day to Day:
Insight Global is building a Scrum team to develop enhancements and customizations for the Self Check-out (SCO) system by the client. This client has acquired a major retail chain as a customer for SCO, and this team will work in collaboration with a team on modifications and integrations for that customer. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies on a system used by millions of people. You will develop enhancements to SCO as a member of a cross-functional Scrum team. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your skills in developing modern commercial software, with support from senior developers on the team.
- Contribute to development of features in the front end (UI) and API integration of the platform
- Participate in code reviews
