Job Title: Network Technician
Location: Charleston, SC
Job Summary: One of our large education clients is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Technician to join their IT team on a contract basis. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the district’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for all students, staff, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and software, including routers, switches, camera/audio systems, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on network-related issues.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network services with other district technologies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent years of experience preferred.
- 3 years' experience as a Network Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in an educational environment is a plus.
Compensation:
$22 to $28 per hour.
