Insight Global is hiring for a PERMANENT Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a client in New Haven for $31.05 an hour. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 5 DAYS A WEEK ON-SITE AND BE LOCAL TO NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT
Job Summary: A Nuclear Medicine Technician is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients, operating imaging equipment to capture images of the radioactive material within the body, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Operate imaging equipment to track the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals in the patient's body.
- Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.
- Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Monitor patients for any unusual reactions to the radiopharmaceuticals.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information.
- Perform routine calibrations and quality control checks on imaging equipment.
- Dispose of radioactive materials safely and in accordance with regulations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and protection protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
