Job Description

Insight Global is seeking 1 Payroll Specialist to join a team at a large healthcare system based in Linthicum Heights, MD. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees within the healthcare system. This role involves maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.

Shift : Monday-Friday

Hybrid : 2 days on-site on pay week, 1 day on-site on non-pay week. Flex on what day they go in!

Duration : 12 month contract to hire

Key Responsibilities :

Payroll Processing :

Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and contract staff.

Verify and input timekeeping data, including overtime, shift differentials, and other pay adjustments.

Calculate and process special payrolls such as bonuses, retroactive pay, and termination payouts.

Compliance and Reporting :

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and other required reports.

Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll information and documentation.

Employee Support :

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely and professional manner.

Educate employees on payroll policies and procedures.

Record Maintenance :

Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.

Update employee information in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in status.

Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.

System Management :

Utilize payroll software and systems to process payroll and generate reports.

Collaborate with IT and HR departments to implement system updates and improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve system issues as needed.

Continuous Improvement :

Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in payroll operations.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in payroll management.

Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Must-have

Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, HR, or related field

4 years of payroll experience for a large healthcare system or other large organization

Strong understanding of processing payroll, prior pay period adjustments, and previous work with taxes

Strongly skilled in excel

Excellent attention to detail, having an analytical mindset

Experience with Kronos strongly preferred (for timekeeping)

Plusses

Experience working with Infor Cloud suite
