Nuclear Security and Compliance Expertise
This position requires expertise in nuclear security and compliance to ensure projects meet all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear physical security requirements and be able to apply this knowledge to support project coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate cross-functional interaction between multiple workgroups.
- Read, review, and provide input for engineering sketches and drawings.
- Act as a liaison between Nuclear Security and Nuclear Projects for scoping and technical review of physical security requirements.
- Support onsite walkdowns of the affected equipment.
- Obtain and maintain Safeguards Information (SGI) qualification.
- Obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access (UA).
- Ensure familiarity with nuclear physical security requirements, including site-specific, fleet-specific, regulatory agency, and local/state/federal law requirements.
- Work with internal and external customers/vendors to find common solutions for the affected equipment.
- Support the Project Manager (PM) in project coordination tasks and interface with the Responsible Engineer (RE) on technical items requiring Engineering Change (EC) incorporation.
- Support the Field Engineer (FE) with coordination between planning, implementation, engineering, and project management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a technical specialist.
- Experience with nuclear plant operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in nuclear engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., NRC regulations).
- Relevant certifications in nuclear safety or operations.
