Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on switchgear oversight and inspection. The ideal candidate will have experience in mission-critical environments, such as data centers and large industrial plants, with an in-depth understanding of switchgear functionality and a passion for ensuring high-quality standards in electrical engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight & Inspection: Lead the oversight and inspection of switchgear units, ensuring they are correctly assembled and meet company and industry standards.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and report on the quality of the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with specifications and best practices.
- Liaison & Guidance: Act as a liaison between the end client, outside vendors, and internal teams. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure effective communication across all stakeholders.
- Commissioning Support: Travel to mission-critical sites to oversee the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring proper implementation and alignment with project goals.
- Collaboration with Functional Managers: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including 10 functional managers from different departments, to coordinate project timelines and deliverables.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor newly hired engineers on company processes and provide consultation on various new electrical engineering projects.
- Project Estimation & Planning: Estimate electrical man hours, material takeoffs, and lead-time projections to effectively plan for upcoming projects and meet deadlines.
- Documentation & Reporting: Conduct inspections and submit reports via AWS, ensuring detailed documentation of switchgear conditions and any required actions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Overseeing and inspecting the assembly and installation of electrical units.
- Ensuring that all switchgear is functioning as intended and meeting quality standards.
- Traveling to different sites for project commissioning and providing hands-on leadership.
- Collaborating with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing guidance on electrical systems and project processes.
- Monitoring project timelines and material usage to ensure efficient project delivery.
