Title: Sr. Production/Manufacturing Engineer
Location: 5 days onsite in Bloomington, IN 47404 (could be flex down the line for 1 day hybrid!)
Duration: Permanent, direct hire
Why Open: Team Expansion
Shift/Hours: M-F, 7:30-4:30 PM EST (Flexible). Team usually gets in anywhere between 6:30-8 AM. Typical 40 hour work week! Not much overtime expected.
Salary Range / Bill Rate: $96-110k 10% annual bonus
Interview Process: 2 rounds: one 30 minute teams interview, final onsite panel interview
Must Have Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role
- Experience in CREO and/or SolidWorks for 3-D designing complex fixtures, tooling, and equipment
- Testing experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
Plusses:
- Experience with troubleshooting and programming with PLCs
- Manual testing experience
- Willingness to mentor more Jr. engineers
- Knowledge of medical device quality standards/practices or similar regulated industry.
About the Role:
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with experience doing Mechanical 3D Design on complex fixtures, tooling, and equipment for medical device manufacturing. The team uses both Creo and Solidworks. They need to not only create the components, but implement them as well This person will be 5 days onsite working both on the production floor and in the lab/behind a desk to create designs for process improvement (mainly for safety reasons, current time consuming processes, expensive processed, etc.), optimization of current processes and equipment. This person will also be hands on, ordering equipment, fixing and building machine ship equipment, and more. Having a broad base of knowledge on standards of general process improvement within a manufacturing environment will be crucial in this position.
- Define, identify, procure, and qualify new equipment for manufacturing processes and test methods
- Design and optimize process and process equipment for large and small scale manufacturing.
- Execute methods needed for efficient and effective process and test method development (design for manufacturing/assembly, process validation, process capability, lean manufacturing, equipment selection and qualification, and specification development).
- Hold equipment design review meetings to agree on feasible solutions.
- Manage Vendors for delivery of build components.
- The integration of machined components with off the shelf parts to complete the equipment. (Keeping spares to a minimum)
- Generation of the specification for any components required within the equipment, i.e. PLCs, Sensors, Pneumatic Actuators, and Servo Motors etc.
- The manufacture of components as per the supplied drawings, with emphasis on machining fits and tolerances.
- The integration of electrical components. (HMI/PLC/Loadcell/sensors etc)
- The integration of any pneumatic components into the equipment. (Cylinders/regulators etc)
- Integration of Safety components as part of in-house CE marking. This includes safety relays, safety interlock switches, safety sensors, etc.
- Assisting New Product Introduction Team to introduce new equipment into manufacturing.
- Support installation and maintenance of the equipment.
- Provide technical support for the equipment build during build and debug of the equipment once complete.
- Potentially helping out with some 2D plant layout as well when needed
Salary : $96,000 - $110,000
