Senior Systems Administrator
Location: Phoenix, AZ, 85012
Schedule: Hybrid; it's primarily remote, but they will need to come into the office as needed, as well as for the first 3 days of their employment
- Must be local to AZ
- Do quarterly summits within their team, at least once a month availability to come into office
Duration: 9-month contract; if they perform well and they’re a good fit, can convert FTE (W2)
PR: $52 hourly
Start Date: 2/3/25
End Date to Conversion: 11/3/26
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s in Computer/Information Systems and/or 5 years of experience as a server/network administrator in a medium-large enterprise.
- Thorough understanding of multi-tiered application architecture.
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems.
- Technical knowledge of Linux Server operating systems.
- Ability to automate operational tasks and routines using PowerShell and/or other automation platforms/methods.
- Experience working in a 24x7, mission-critical enterprise public cloud and on-premises data center environment.
- Proven customer service skills and ability to work professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrated problem-resolution skills and analytical/critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work within established operational policies and guidelines.
Job Description/Day-to-Day:
One of our clients is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator within its Technology Services Division. The position duties include:
- Working closely with other IT teams including Information Security, Service Desk, Quality Assurance, Production Support and product vendors to plan, deploy and sustain a stable, highly performing and available infrastructure and application environment.
- Ownership/oversight and hands-on planning, deployment and operational upkeep of ASRS’ infrastructure and applications.
- Proactive monitoring, identification and resolution of the most complex infrastructure and application problems.
- Promoting and advancing team efficiencies and capabilities through DevOps/automation improvements.
Additionally, and as needed:
- Maintain timely, accurate and complete documentation and desk procedures for systems and team functions.
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
Administration and management of:
- Multi-tiered COTS applications
- Public-cloud services
- Physical and virtual servers
- Mid-tier storage arrays and SAN
- Security appliances
- Active directory and group policy
- Secure remote access, remote desktop/VDI
- Adherence to Incident, Problem, Configuration and Change Management processes and controls.
- Perform IT Service Management functions including creating tickets, communicating directly with users/IT staff, fielding incident escalations, performing troubleshooting operations and thoroughly documenting progress/status.
