What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Labor Attorney/ CBA Negotiations Manager position at Insight Global?
We are looking for a Sr. Attorney with extensive knowledge and experience in labor law, collective bargaining agreements, employment law, contract law, and labor relations. As a member of the Negotiations and Contract Administration department, responsibilities will include being involved in bargaining and negotiating with the Airline company for the Union, providing input on strategy development, drafting proposals, term sheets, and contract language, as well as various legal services to protect the pilots of the airline. We must have someone with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreements) negotiation and drafting experience.
Duties:
- Serves as an advisor to National Officers and Negotiating Committee involving matters related to negotiated pilot agreements
- When practical to do so, and as directed, attends and participates in pilot negotiating sessions, mediations and super-mediations related to collective bargaining agreements (CBA), Memorandums of Understanding MOUs), Letters of Agreements (LOAs) and all related negotiated pilot agreements.
- Works with the department Director assisting the National officers and Negotiating Committee in drafting proposals, term sheets, contract language, and related letters and other agreements.
- Provides input to and support for the evaluation and assessment of bargaining proposals, term sheets, and options for economic and quality of life value, measurement against institutional goals, and impact on existing agreements.
- Provides counsel related to RLA compliance.
- Participates and helps develop and deliver, in conjunction with the department Director, National Officers, and Negotiating Committee, presentations to the APA Board of Directors, pilot membership, or other parties.
- In conjunction with and as directed by the department Director, manages, schedules, and trains, department staff, including Contract Administrators.
- Supports the enforcement CBA and other agreements through and by supporting contract administration, implementation, and compliance efforts.
- Coordinates with the department Director, the Senior Director of Legal Affairs, and others to support the prosecution of grievances through settlement discussions, hearings, and System Board of Adjustment arbitrations.
- Assists with the preparation of bargaining and contract information, updates, and comparisons.
- Represents the Association in arbitrations, administrative hearings, and court proceedings.
- Provides timely and accurate written and verbal legal advice to Association staff and member groups on a variety of issues including, but not limited to labor law, employment law, collective bargaining and labor relations and other areas of the law relevant to the Association’s activities.
- Monitors developments and trends in labor law, employment law, and recent arbitration decisions that may impact the Association or its members.
- Reviews Association policies and procedures applicable to its members for legal compliance and risk mitigation; recommend changes as needed.
- Engages in legal research and writing of varying degrees of complexity.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with counsel from affiliated organizations and outside legal consultants.
- In coordination with subject matter experts, prepares and presents educational programs regarding aspects of collective bargaining, labor law, and employment law for staff and members as requested.
Salary : $250,000 - $275,000
