Job Description : The Supplier Quality Specialist Contractor works as part of a cross-functional team including Manufacturing Engineering and Product Support Engineering to ensure successful fabrication, assembly, test and delivery of products.
Essential Functions :
Work with a cross-functional team including Manufacturing Engineering and Product Support Engineering to identify cause of non-conformances and appropriate corrective actions
Work with cross-functional teams to meet company quality, cost and delivery metrics
Develop and train inspectors on Quality Inspection Documents
Prepare and distribute reports on Company Metrics
Support the development of QA work instructions, check sheets, final inspection records and provide approval
Prepare performance charts on various quality indicators, coordinate continuous improvement efforts to improve product quality and resulting indicators
Support metrology related activities, including risk assessments
Work with little supervision
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or similar technical field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or similar technical field and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Familiar with application of Statistical Process Control techniques
Familiar with Metrology techniques
Ability to read and interpret drawings and Product Specifications
Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Strong problem-solving skills and Root Cause analysis skills
Some overtime may be required
Preferred Additional Skills :
Experience in machining and inspection of parts made from large aluminum castings
Skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
6 Sigma Green belt, Yellow Belt of Black Belt certification.
Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machine function and programs preferred
Experience in conducting Gage R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility) studies preferred
Training and working knowledge / experience in lean concepts preferred
