Location: Bethesda, MD – onsite 1-2 days per week
Length: 6-month contract to hire
Clearance: Will be obtaining a public trust clearance – 2-4 week onboarding
Salary: 130k-140K
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant experience to include:
- Engineering and administration of Linux / Unix systems
- Security and Configurating Linux/Unix systems including experience with STIG implementation
- Red Hat and Debian based systems
- HW and Virtualization (VMWare and Cloud IaaS)
- Experience with scripting, including using Ansible playbook scripts
- Bachelor’s degree (or the following may be substituted):
- High School Diploma (or GED), coupled with an additional 6 years of relevant experience; or
- Associate’s degree, coupled with an additional 4 years of relevant experience
Summary
- Engineer responsible for systems administration, configuration management, and engineering duties for Linux computer systems. Performs systems administration of Unix operating systems, environments, and applications. Manages cybersecurity configuration, vulnerability remediation, and technical problem resolution for Unix systems.
Responsibilities
- Conducting computer configuration, cybersecurity compliance, and application management using scripting, Ansible, and other administrative tools.
- Facilitating projects and initiatives supporting customer requirements and security mandates.
- Creating and updating tickets/tasks in management tools (including Azure DevOps and ServiceNow), ensuring clear communication of status and reporting on tasking progress.
- Performing testing and documenting results to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to change management policies to support governance/approvals for systems administration.
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
