Duties:
- Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis.
- Performing physical exams and patient observations.
- Consulting with healthcare professionals and families.
- Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries.
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Diagnosing health issues.
- Recommending medicine and other treatments.
- Prescribe medications and suggest lifestyle changes to remedy medical problems.
- Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms.
- Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies.
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
- Training patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury.
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or physician assistant program.
- Previous experience within Pain, Orthopedics, Neurology, or Neurosurgery field or related work environment is
- preferred
- Appropriate healthcare and professional licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and board-certified
- APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Prescriptive authorization.
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement.
