What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guideline Monitoring Manager (Boston) position at Insight Investment?
Insight Investment is looking for a Guideline Monitoring Manager to join the Guideline Management team in Boston. The Guideline Monitoring Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the Charles River team and ensure the appropriate handling of pre and post trade alerts, guideline coding and guideline drafting reviews. The Guideline Monitoring Manager will assist and take the lead in Guideline related projects, suggest enhancements to existing processes and help build out the offshore team in Pune working closely with the Head of Guideline Monitoring, North America.
The Guideline Monitoring team are responsible for the drafting, implementation, coding and monitoring of investment guidelines. The team are integral to front office processes and are sat amongst the fund management team and client solutions group, working closely with them to ensure guidelines are operationally sound and that investment risk limits are adhered to.
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure oversight so that all new mandates/amendments are coded into systems within the agreed timeframes with a high level of accuracy
- Work closely with the Fund Managers and Client Directors to ensure that coding has been accurately interpreted and signed off within the appropriate timeframe
- Ensure client guideline queries from across the business are answered in a timely and accurate manner
- Oversight of post trade monitoring ensuring incidents are proactively escalated and recorded in the relevant systems
- Review monthly and quarterly compliance attestations produced by the Guideline Team and ensure the attestations are produced within the required deadlines
- Continuously engage with IT to evolve systems; assisting and taking the lead in Guideline related projects
- Assist the Head of Guideline Monitoring, North America in the build out of the offshore Team
- Work closely with Fund Management and the Client Services team in the review of guidelines - ensuring that amendments can be coded into the compliance systems and standardizing the format of guidelines across the U.S. business
Experience Required
- Experience of managing high performance teams
- Working within Charles River or another similar Order Management System
- Experience of working in a guideline-related function
- Good analytical skills, capable of thinking logically, using initiative and systematically able to resolve problems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel and the ability to build reports to enable the extraction and analysis of data sets
- Able to provide challenge to both existing processes and controls across the business and be proactive, self-supportive and motivated in the promotion of a positive compliance and risk culture within the firm
- Strong understanding of fixed income securities - including derivatives
