We are seeking an Automotive Service Technician-Diesel Experience to join the family. Our client is a family-owned and operated company that provides the community with new and used cars, a full-service body shop and service department, as well as Genuine GM Parts. Our service department is seeking someone who can add to the team as a skilled technician for all makes and models. Prior work history should include at least 2 years in an automotive repair facility. Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform work as outlined on the repair order. Accurately document all work performed and recommended.Inspect assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended - may include road tests.Clearly communicate with service advisor if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Connect with Parts Department to obtain needed parts and reports status of parts to service advisor.Ensures appearance of customers' vehicles is maintained or improved - notifies service advisor of any change in the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions and maintains all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Operate all tools and equipment safely.Complete manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events as requested. Keep up to date on technical bulletins.Qualifications
Able to perform day-to-day service activities in a technician environment.Have at least 2 years' experience in an automotive repair facility and provide his or her own tools.Be able to lift up to one hundred (100) lbs without assistance and stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods of time on concrete.Have strong attention to detail and be organized.A self-motivated team player that is able to communicate effectively with team members and works well with other technicians and service advisors.Have a valid driver's license and able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company's request.
