Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scribe/Medical Assistant to join our team. This role combines administrative and clinical responsibilities to support our providers and ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scribing: Accurately document patient encounters, including medical history, exam findings, and treatment plans, in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Patient Care: Assist with pre-testing procedures, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and imaging as needed.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient files with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Clinic Operations: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, restock exam rooms, and ensure equipment is properly sanitized and ready for use.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the optometrists and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or optometry setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and EMR software; experience with optometry-specific platforms is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical assisting or scribing is a plus.
