What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vision care patient care coordinator position at InSight Vision Therapy?
Do you want to help us change lives? Interested in free training for a new career? We will train the right person for this position as a patient care coordinator. The position starts as part time with the opportunity to increase hours up to 30-35 hours / week. We are open Monday thru Thursday, no nights or weekends. The right candidate will have the option to train as a vision therapist (see below).
At InSight Vision Therapy we teach peoples' brains how to see better. We diagnose and treat vision-and-learning problems, eye turn / lazy eye issues, and brain injury rehabilitation. Our therapists work one-on-one with patients of all ages & abilities to improve how their eyes, brain and body work together. Therapists have a unique role in that they must modify activities based on each individual patient's ability, always working to challenge (but not overwhelm) the patient. About 70% of the position is direct one-on-one with patients; the other 30% is documentation and administrative work.
This position includes patient care coordination and may grow to include vision therapy. We are looking for a creative, organized individual with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with others. No previous experience needed.
Qualifications
- Strong medical administrative support skills
- Experience in a medical office environment is a plus
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office
- Excellent patient service and clerical abilities
- Clear, professional communication ability
- Familiarity with medical records and front desk operations
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations is beneficial
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and provide customer service
Responsibilities - Patient Care Coordinator
- Greet and assist patients at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage patient records and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments and handle phone and text inquiries.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient service.
Responsibilities - Vision Therapy
- Work with patients one-on-one to help them improve their visual skills. On the job training provided.
- Chart progress in medical records.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
