Short Summary:
The successful candidate will join a team of skilled medical professionals who provide superior health services in a caring environment.
Our Surgical RNs will gain exposure to general surgical patients including bariatric, orth, spinal, urology, medical, telemetry, and trauma. This is a high-functioning unit that boasts exceptionally high employee engagement and patient satisfaction scores. Our RN team provides direct patient care within the scope of their practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning, implementation of a plan of care, and evaluation patient's progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patient's care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. This candidate will also work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
Job Requirements:
- Apply knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and health care team members.
- Illustrates a high level of analytical ability, sufficient enough to identify changes in patient's conditions and to initiate appropriate action(s).
- Applies knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to the release of health care information.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret physicians’ orders, and notes from other providers.
- Calculates and administers drug dosages and injections and measures results.
- Organizes and accomplishes multiple tasks to have the flexibility to meet ever-changing demands daily.
- Maintains a professional manner even under stressful situations.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Applies computer skills to carry out administrative and organizational activities.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Must matriculate to a BSN within one year of hire, obtaining completion within five years of hire.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- As this is an entry-level position, experience as an RN is not required.
