Lead Construction Estimator
We are seeking an experienced Lead Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the estimating process for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive cost estimates and contribute to project bidding strategies.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Bid Management: Lead the bid process, including reviewing bid documents, identifying key project requirements, and preparing bids in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze historical data and market trends to develop accurate cost estimates and identify potential risks.
- Scope Definition: Assist in defining the scope of work for projects, ensuring all aspects are covered in estimates.
- Budget Development: Collaborate with project teams to establish budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reporting: Prepare and present cost reports and estimates to management and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to improve estimating processes and accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, etc..) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Project Experience: Experience with a variety of project types (Multi-Family, Luxury Residential).
- Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits as needed.
- May require extended hours during peak bidding periods.
