About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced CPA-licensed Audit Manager to join their team in Atlanta. This leadership position will focus on driving growth and maintaining exceptional client service standards.
- Direct multiple concurrent audit engagements, including planning, resource allocation, and quality control
- Lead and develop engagement teams, including seniors and staff, providing mentorship and career guidance
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services
- Review complex financial statements, Form 990s, and other regulatory filings
- Manage engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and realization
- Contribute to proposal development and actively participate in business development initiatives
- Develop and implement audit strategies aligned with firm methodology and professional standards
- Address technical accounting issues and consult with partners on complex matters
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in firm initiatives and committee assignments
- Active CPA license with 7 years of public accounting experience
- Experience managing not-for-profit audit engagements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required (Master's degree preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 958 and not-for-profit accounting principles
- Comprehensive understanding of Single Audit requirements and Uniform Guidance
- Proven track record of managing multiple engagements and meeting deadlines
- Experience with quality control processes and peer reviews
- Expert knowledge of audit methodology and risk assessment procedures
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and testing methodologies
- Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools
- Experience with various accounting systems used in the not-for-profit sector
- Knowledge of current accounting and auditing pronouncements affecting not-for-profits
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop professional staff
- Excellence in client relationship management and communication
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to make decisions in complex situations
- History of successful business development initiatives
- Experience with large private foundations and governmental entities
- Knowledge of specialized not-for-profit sectors (healthcare, education, religious organizations)
- Active involvement in professional organizations and community leadership
- Experience with merger/acquisition due diligence
- History of public speaking or presenting at professional conferences
