Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to develop tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing tax savings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for tax-related matters and providing timely and relevant advice.
- Stay ahead of changes in tax laws and regulations, conduct research on complex tax issues, and analyze their implications for clients.
- Ensure that all tax filings meet deadlines and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Assist clients in preparing financial statements and other documentation required for tax purposes.
- Work closely with other members of the tax team, including partners, managers, and staff accountants, to deliver high-quality tax services to clients.
- Educate clients on tax matters, helping them understand their tax obligations and opportunities for tax optimization.
- Identify and resolve tax-related issues and discrepancies, providing proactive solutions to clients' tax challenges.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in public accounting or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
