Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Associate to join their public accounting firm in New York City. In this role, you will serve high-net-worth individual clients, providing comprehensive tax planning and compliance services while working alongside experienced tax professionals.
- Prepare complex federal and state individual tax returns for high-net-worth clients
- Analyze clients' financial information and identify tax planning opportunities
- Research tax issues and prepare technical memoranda
- Assist with tax projections and quarterly estimated tax payments
- Coordinate with wealth advisors and investment managers on tax implications
- Respond to IRS and state tax authority notices and inquiries
- Support senior staff with tax examinations and audits
- Stay current on tax law changes affecting high-net-worth individuals
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation preferred)
- 2-4 years of public accounting tax experience
- Pursuing a CPA certification
- Experience with high-net-worth individual tax returns and planning
- Knowledge of pass-through entity taxation and investment income reporting
- Proficiency with professional tax software (UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
