Development Engineer – Sensor Technology
to join our growing team and contribute to our success in North America.
Your Start at Insort:
After a comprehensive training period, both in our Turlock office and at customer sites, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of our sensor-based sorting solutions, contributing to the growth and innovation of our high-tech products.
About YOU:
- Sensor Calibration and Machine Adjustment: Fine-tune and control image sensors and sorting machines for optimal performance.
- Testing and Demonstration: Independently set up and operate in-house test devices for product testing and live demonstrations.
- Classification Development: Create models and color classifications using our proprietary application software.
- R&D Contributions: Support research and development activities for new applications and test features before field approval.
- Documentation Excellence: Write comprehensive test, demo, and performance evaluation reports.
- Field Insights: Provide technical feedback on equipment performance and development opportunities.
- Customer Training: Execute operator training plans, training customers on Insort’s sorting and monitoring equipment.
- On-Site Support: Assist field service engineers in machine commissioning at customer locations.
About the JOB:
- Technical Education: College or university degree in a technical field is an asset.
- Professional Experience: Work experience in equipment manufacturing, field service, optical sorting, or nut processing.
- Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings; strong IT connectivity and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience writing technical documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Tackle challenges with a solution-focused mindset and maintain high-quality standards.
- Teamwork and Independence: Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational Skills: Effectively prioritize tasks and manage conflicts with minimal supervision.

Additional Details:
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time for installations and service, with occasional international travel for training.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours typically between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Some overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
Compensation: Total compensation of $85,000–$95,000 per year.
Vacation Time: 15 days of paid vacation (3 weeks).
