Key Responsibilities:
- Transports residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands using an Inspīr-owned vehicle
- Reviews the transportation schedule daily and assures scheduled appointments can be met with available staff
- Partners with Concierge Services Manager and other department managers to schedule transportation appointments for residents as needed
- Communicates effectively and timely with Concierge Services Manager if unable to make scheduled resident appointments
- Available for unscheduled resident transportation needs in an emergency and without prior notice
- Monitors resident activity and alerts staff when assistance is necessary to ensure resident safety when transporting
- Completes routine vehicle inspection checks and notifies the Concierge Services Manager of any maintenance problems or safety issues that need to be addressed
- Ensures Inspīr-owned vehicles are clean and tidy
- Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures
- Follows residence policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans
- Participates in department meetings as scheduled
- Follows emergency procedures as trained and instructed
- Understands and complies with all safety practices and procedures relative to Inspīr-owned vehicles, including the safe operations of wheelchairs, lifts, and other assistive devices
- Refrains from using cellular phones while transporting residents except during emergency situations; understands that texting is strictly prohibited while operating an Inspīr-owned vehicle
- Ensures residents are safely secured in Inspīr-owned vehicles before operating the vehicle
- Participate in on-going in-service and training requirements
- Completes other duties that are assigned by management team
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- NYS CDL Class C driver’s license with clean driving record required
- Experience driving in NYC
- Able to operate van with lift
- Desire to work with seniors
