MAJOR FUNCTION:
Prepares patients and performs non-invasive electroencephalograms (EEG), sleep deprived studies and other tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. Edits and prepares tests, Reports findings and concerns to reading physicians. Cleans and maintains all equipment. Demonstrates excellent customer service, telephone, and computer skills. Performs EKGs or other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of a Neurodiagnostic program or three years’ experience in the neurodiagnostic field.
- Successful completion of the examination by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists
- Board Registry Required
- National Certification in area of specialty, preferred
- Hospital experience preferred.
Certification/ Licensure:
- ABRET Registered or Registry Eligible required.
EEG Technician
- BLS required.
