SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW
The Staff Writer’s primary responsibility is conceptualizing, crafting and editing written communications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:

Writes fresh, creative copy that connects with the target audience and drives people to action.

Produces relevant content, selecting the right tone, style, structure and voice based on ministry considerations.

Has a heart for people and interacts with those who have sent testimonies in order to garner and develop their stories.

Ensures that content produced is free of errors and is of high quality in terms of grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy and the Inspiration Ministries Style Guide.

Meets with pertinent staff to discuss proposed content and deadlines.

Follows approval processes.

Reviews, edits, and proofs copy and layouts for all projects, including those of other writers.

Develops an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
For Print:
-
Writes magazine articles, teaching/inspirational letters, fundraising content, product promos, brochures, books, booklets, inserts, invitations, testimonials, case studies, and other projects as assigned.

Provides creative input for copy and strategy as requested.
For Digital:
-
Supports Digital Team if needed, potentially writing various eblasts, event and TV promos, devotionals, feature articles, video scripts, fundraising content, Biblical teaching curriculum, inspirational content, monthly email newsletters, testimonials, case studies, and other content, in accordance with best-practice SEO guidelines.

Repurposes content with ease for varying digital channels, if needed.
