What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commodity Trader position at Inspire Brands?
This position will sit onsite in our Atlanta Support Center and will be onsite 80% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Commodity Management strategy
Analyze and forecast prices of core commodities using fundamental and technical (charting) analysis
Track, calculate, and verify the performance of strategies against actual pricing
Formulate recommendations on commodity management strategies across multiple commodity markets..
Execute strategies within commodity markets in a timely and efficient manner
Risk Management strategy
Identify and Quantify risks to commodity markets (e.g. tariffs, geopolitical instability, disease) the impact of these risks to Inspire Brands
Develop a mitigation strategy for these risks consistent with the risk posed utilizing a combination of risk management strategies that could include: forward fixed contracts, futures/options positions, or hedge proxies
Educate and update leadership on these risks, periodically updating management as risk changes
Develop commodity forecasts of up to 24 months in alignment with business needs and taking into consideration current and future hedges
Partner with cross functional stakeholders
Provide them with necessary commodity data and analysis to support strategic goals, assist with RFPs, and price change negotiations
Follow relevant news sources on information about global commodity markets important to Inspire and spread appropriate information to others within the organization
Assist with reporting key market events and the creation of a routine market update report disseminated to Inspire Brand Stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics or other equivalent and relevant to perform this function
MS in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics or similar field preferred
4-6 years of Commodity trading, risk management or relevant supply chain experience
Experience in one or more of the following markets:
Wheat
Corn
Soy Complex
Fuels
Energy
Coffee
Sugar
Cocoa
Live/Feeder Cattle
Lean Hogs
Cheese
Butter
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
People and results oriented
Attention to detail and the accurate handling of large volumes of data
Excellent presentation, written communication, and oratory skills
Deep analytical skills focused on agricultural markets and fundamental Supply and Demand Analysis
Expert working knowledge in Excel and Power Point
Working knowledge of Bloomberg, CQG, Eikon, Prophet X or other charting programs a plus
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
A passion for commodity markets, risk management, and trading
