What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager, Technical Franchise Revenue- Accounting position at Inspire Brands?
This position will provide leadership and oversight for the Company’s global franchise revenue accounting function, inclusive of technical revenue recognition and accounting for loyalty programs. Responsibilities include the review of complex and technical accounting transactions, collaboration with cross-functional departments and understand of end-to end transactions within the subledgers and boundary systems. Organize, supervise, and motivate a team of accounting professionals responsible for accurate and timely accounting and reporting, with controls execution. Participate in special projects and company-wide initiatives, as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures in alignment with GAAP, including adherence to accounting standards, specifically ASC 606. Oversee end-to-end global processes for revenues, deferred revenues and loyalty accounting, including elimination of intercompany transactions. Review accounting, recording, and reconciliation of revenue accounting transactions.
- Advise and partner on the implementation of revenue systems/tools/processes to support internal financial systems and automation of accounting processes and provide training and mentorship on best practices to the operational accounting teams.
- Manage financial close activities including reconciliations, analytics, and internal controls. Facilitate audits and associated operational activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Communicate effectively across the organization regarding business and accounting issues, policies and procedures to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP. Respond to frequent ad-hoc requests for information from senior management, FP&A, Tax, IA, Legal, and other functional areas of the business.
- Lead and mentor the revenue accounting team and help in identifying and implementing inter and intra department process improvements and enhancements. Foster an environment of continuous improvement within and among other departments concerning the accuracy of all franchise revenue and loyalty transactions entered into the general ledger.
- Liaise with the Legal, FP&A, Franchise Services and Operations teams to understand contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment. Coordinate with internal and external auditors for revenue-related inquiries, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years of total experience, minimum.
- 4 – 7 years of Big 4 Accounting or similar experience.
- Experience in Public Company and strong technical accounting expertise.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
- Ability to plan work effectively, supervise and coordinate the work of the team, meet the deadlines assigned, and make sound decisions.
- Self-sufficient and dependable and strong ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word in a Windows environment.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES: Experience with Oracle or other major ERP systems

DIRECT REPORTS: This position has 3 direct reports, with a total team of 7 individuals.
