Responsibilities:
· Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including fillings, crown preparations, extractions, and other treatments.
· Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready and sterilized.
· Take and process dental X-rays and impressions as directed by the dentist.
· Provide patients with post-operative instructions and educate them on oral hygiene practices.
· Record patient medical and dental histories, update records, and ensure accurate documentation.
· Manage infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to practice protocols.
· Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure that all necessary supplies are available and organized.
· Support front office operations, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and processing payments, as needed.
· Ensure patient comfort and provide compassionate care throughout their visit.
What you'll bring:
- Completion of a dental assistant program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or equivalent.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
