Job Summary
Looking to support those with intellectual disability in Delaware, Montgomery, and Philly County with goals focusing on job coaching, and independent living skills including cooking/budgeting, making friends, and volunteering. We seek a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Professional to join our team. This role involves providing support and guidance to adults with autism in various settings, including the community and in the home. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. You will play a crucial role in helping participants achieve their educational and social goals while fostering a positive learning environment.

Duties
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and support coordinator to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
- Plan and conduct engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of each participant, focusing on skill development and social interaction.
- Monitor and document the progress, making adjustments to lesson plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
- Foster positive relationships with participants by promoting inclusivity and understanding.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and special education staff, to enhance the educational experience.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with lesson planning techniques and strategies for engaging people in learning activities is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with families and team members.
- We are looking for a community support specialist to support adults with autism who are energetic, intelligent, and with the goal for them to optimize independence in their community including their job, volunteer location, and/or community settings. Job duties required are:
1. Helping to support them in their community and learn new activities such as bowling, a new sport, and navigate to new places like museums
2. Develop social skills and learn to make friends
3. Make connections in their community and locate a meaningful volunteer position
4. Learn to budget, cook, and build leadership skills in the community
We’re Hiring Team Members Who:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Have a current, non-provisional driver’s license in good standing
- Work well in teams
- CPR
- 1 year experience supporting those with autism and/or intellectual disabilities
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
