ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Director, Internal Communications is responsible for the creation and execution of internal communication strategies that engage and inform our employees, foster a positive culture, support executive communication, and help drive business initiatives. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this individual will build strong partnerships across Inspire to support internal communication needs throughout the organization. This is an individual contributor role which will partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, and all functions including HR, Marketing/P.R., Finance, Investor Relations, Legal/Compliance, Product Development/Technology, Sales, and Operations teams.

The salary for this position is expected to be between $151,600 - $225,000 and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE
- Develop strategy and execution of communications initiatives, leveraging a strong understanding of business objectives and organizational dynamics.
- Collaborate with leadership to craft and deliver key messages, ensuring consistent and transparent communication across all levels of the organization.
- Partner with stakeholders to evolve and manage the overall strategy for Inspire’s intranet, including content creation or management. Make recommendations to ensure employees can easily find company information.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to a variety of audiences. Tailor writing voice to draft key messages in the tone and style of the intended author.
- Lead internal communications planning and execution which could include areas such as:
- Executive communications
- Organizational changes
- Employee town halls
- Culture and Values
- Employee pay and benefits
- Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
- Employee intranet
- Regulatory, legal, or compliance issues
- Change management for key business initiatives
- Community service/corporate giving
- Company events such as milestone celebrations and other key meetings
- Act as a “quarterback” in key communication situations, orchestrating resources and stakeholders to operate collectively towards the desired outcome.
- Support internal partners who lead specific aspects of communication to our Field employee team to ensure it is well-planned and integrates with overall corporate messaging and timelines.
- Serve as a key advisor to leadership on communication best practices.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives using metrics and feedback, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends and best practices in internal communications, applying innovative approaches to engage various audiences.
- Demonstrate expertise evaluating, implementing, and leveraging digital communication tools and platforms.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in internal communications, including 2 years with executive communications.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work strategically to create high-level communications strategies and plans, then dive deeper to be hands-on in execution of drafting communications and getting work done.
- Experience creating communication strategies to support employee engagement and culture.
- Experience with intranet strategies and execution.
- Strong collaborator with leaders and partners of all levels and experiences.
- Knowledge of change management and employee engagement strategies.
- Self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
- Previous experience in the med-tech, med device, or other heavily regulated industry.
- Experience with internal communications in a publicly-traded company.
