ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

We are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer-Algorithms to join our algorithms product development team located in the Minneapolis, MN location. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team of people and providing guidance to the design, implementation, and test of software solutions for our next generation Inspire products. This work will include technical leadership of algorithm development, deployment and verification.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE

• Provide system expertise for new products as well as changes to existing products with a focus on embedded digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms
• Lead design, implementation, verification & debug of various embedded software algorithms
• Lead design reviews to ensure designs meet or exceed implementation, testing, scalability, and maintainability best practice guidelines
• Engage in risk management activities in compliance with ISO 14971
• Generate and approve design history file documents, device master record documents and engineering change order records
• Ensure all quality system, regulatory, legal, and business requirements are met during product development and market delivery
• Support post market (commercial) product and/or therapy related investigations as well as CAPA activities and implementations
• Support new product launch planning in partnership with operations, marketing, sales & education
  
  

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical, data science, computer engineering, or related field
• 5 years of work experience in software, systems, signal processing, or embedded software development
• Experience designing, developing, and delivering innovative medical technology
• Ability to efficiently specify, design, implement, verify, validate, and support high quality algorithms
• Experience developing algorithms and tools in MATLAB, Python, and C languages or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders and senior leadership
  
  

Preferred:

• Advanced level degree in engineering, biomedical, data science, computer engineering, or related field
• 5 years of experience using Machine Learning techniques
• Active implantable medical product development experience
• Experience with embedded signal processing algorithms for physiologic signals
• Experience with embedded software development and testing
• Experience with software and systems considerations for clinical research
• Experience with industry standards for medical devices such as ISO 14971, ISO 14708, EN 45502, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, IEC 62366 etc.
• Understanding of 21 CFR 820 requirements as well as ISO 13485 requirements for design, development and manufacturing
