Job Title: Medical Assistan

Job Description: As a Medical Assistant your responsibility is to ensure all patients are roomed swiftly and with accuracy. Ensuring that all clinical tasks are completed, and that the provider is on time. Working as a team, the medical assistant is a vital part of the success of the practice. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability be resourceful.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Assistant Duties

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.).
  • Assist healthcare providers during exams, treatments, and procedures.
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect laboratory specimens (e.g., blood draws) as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup of medical instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR), updating patient charts as needed.
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Assist with inventory management and order medical supplies as needed.
  • Teaching patients how to inject their medications.

3. Administrative Support

  • Assist in managing the flow of patients through the clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment by fostering teamwork and open communication with colleagues.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning documents, and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Answer phone calls, route calls, and respond to inquiries.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • Verify and update patient information, including insurance details, in the medical records system.
  • Collect copayments, process payments, and manage patient billing inquiries.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and other correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred
  • Certification from an accredited medical assistant program (e.g., CMA, RMA) is a plus
  • Proven experience as a medical assistant or similar position
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using medical office software and equipment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Pay: $19.26 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
