What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acute Care LPN -LTACH Hospital position at Inspire Specialty Hospital?
Inspire Specialty Hospital is a 31-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital. We are looking for Licensed Practical Nurses for our day and night shift working 12-hour, fast paced shifts caring for a variety of patient types. Our patio type ranges from ICU level ventilator patients to high acuity medical surgical patients.
The primary responsibility of the Licensed Practical Nurse is to provide total nursing care for medically complex patients, participate in patient and family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively within ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the long term acute care setting.
Types of Patients at an LTAC
- Ventilator/BIPAP/High Flow (Acute invasive/noninvasive airway management)
- Complex wounds
- Sepsis/Bacteremia
- Cardiac
- Intravenous Therapy
- Hemo and Peritoneal Dialysis
- ICU Level of acuity
Licensure, Registration, Certification
- A current Practical Nurse License in good standing for the State of Oklahoma is required.
- BLS is required.
- ACLS is preferred
Special Training/Skills
- Recent Hospital experience required
- Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to safely maneuver patients and supplies.
- Must be able to handle a fluctuating workload.
- This job quires ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders (providers, caregivers, patients, family members) for the effective treatment of patients.
Physical Demand Level: Heavy
In an 12-hour workday, must be able to-Lift / Carry 50 to 100 pounds occasionally 25 to 50 pounds frequently 10 to 20 pounds constantly As required, must be able to-Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders Push and Pull Perform fine motor functions Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
